Eatmeater is a full-service music and post-production company established in 2010 by composer and multi-instrumentalist Gustav Niepoort.

Our primary function is to provide the soundtrack to your film project – we also specialize in audio restoration, voiceover, sound recording and mixing.

We understand and command the latest digital technology, but try to accommodate the hands on feel and glorious sound of analog equipment whenever possible.

We are also hopeless romantics and great lovers of music, so our beautiful recording studio serves as a creative melting pot and inspirational hub for some of Copenhagen’s finest musicians. From Jazz to Punk, electro and classical - sessions often run late into the night.

With this network and almost 20 years of experience in the music industry, we can help your pictures come alive and your music soar. We always aim to bring emotional sensibility and attention to sonic detail, to your project - be it big or small, and if you ask for it, we can also deliver the unexpected.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch, to see how we can help you.

Our studio is a hybrid studio, where high quality analog gear is paired with the endless possibilities of the digital realm. This setup allows us, for example, to move effortlessly from a super clean modern electronic sound, to a dusty old vintage sound and anything in between, in a heartbeat. At the bottom of this page you will find a list of select pieces of gear.

A central philosophy at Eatmeater studio, is to try and create and capture as interesting sounds as possible going into the computer rather than relying solely on post production to create the magic.

You can create amazing things in the box, no doubt about it, but we just love the way a performer, an instrument, a space and a microphone, can interact with each other to create unique sounds, textures and moods -it can be time consuming, unpredictable and a good challenge, but its just so much fun. We have different rooms, we can use to create highly personalized reverbs and we are big fans of re-amping.

We are also huge fans of gritty old junkie instruments and oddball musical toys, with all their flaws and imperfections.
Don’t hesitate contacting us about your recording, mixing and mastering needs.

No matter how crazy a setup or a gear setting may be - if it sounds right, it is right - we always try to use our ears instead of our eyes when trying to determine how something should sound.

Niepoort

Gustav Niepoort released "The Soft Descent" in 2017. The album, where Gustav plays all the instruments himself, is a lush mix of warm moody indie pop and folktronica. "The title refers to slowly sinking into routines and habits that can be difficult to break free of. Most tracks revolve around this theme, while other songs serve as a call to break free of the trivial embrace of leisure "
